Welcome to
Celebrating Purim

…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
- Esther 4:14
Purim commemorates the miraculous salvation of the Jews and is a blessed reminder
of our salvation - Jesus!
Purim is always a fun time for us! We dress-up and reenact either in costume or with puppets. The favorite part of our celebration is the reading of the Megillah, the scroll of Esther. We cheer when we hear the name Mordecai, sigh when we hear the name Esther, and boo (shaking our groggers – noise-makers) at the mention of Haman. Though these ‘theatrics’ aren’t necessary, they do help younger one’s (and even some older ones ºÜº) stay alert through the reading of the book of Esther.
Why celebrate Purim? To learn and to remember. Below we share some pictures of one of our reenactments of Esther and also some puppets we’ve made. We’ve also included some downloads that might aid in your families celebration/study of this feast.
