An Idyll Testimony

But it is good for me to draw
near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy
works.
Psalm 73: 28
The empty seashells you find lying idle
by the sea were once home to soft-tissued animals called mollusks, an animal
without a backbone. They build their shells by secreting a
calcium liquid that eventually hardens around them. As the animals grow, their
shells grow along with them.
Simply
doing what God made them to do, they became what God intended them to be, a
work of beauty, a treasure, Idyll-By-The-Sea.
After the mollusk dies, a mark of their beauty remains behind as a
treasure to remind us that trusting God and the design He has for our lives, we
too will become something of beauty, prayerfully leaving in our wake a
testimony of His love, an idyll testimony of His kingdom.
Abba
sometimes the pressures of this life leave me with a feeling of being idle,
empty, and useless. Help me move beyond
this picture to the vision you have for me, resting with assurance that the
design You have chosen will leave in my wake not an idle testimony, but a work
of art, a treasure, an ‘Idyll Testimony’ to Your loving kindness.
