Have You Considered My Servant Job

I have always loved the book of Job. One of my favorite parts is where God is talking to Satan asking
if he had considered His servant Job.
Since I am a parent myself, I recognize the words of a proud parent...”Have
you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth?” I love to picture my Abba’s face. Have you considered my servant Cindy? Oh how I hope my life can bring words like
that to my fathers lips.
After God asks His question we hear Satan’s reply, “Hast not
thou made an hedge about him, and about his house…” Therefore, God removes His
hand and over time, Job loses everything, health, riches, and yes even
family. After loosing his 10 children,
Job rents his mantle, shaves his head, and falls down upon the ground, and
WORSHIPS! How that must have angered Satan!
Have you considered my servant Job?
I like to keep fresh in my mind that there is
a battle going on. A battle of good and
evil. And if the only bullets I can
send forth today are a smile while in pain, I am going to do it! When I wake up crying from the pain in my
head, I roll out of bed to my knees to praise Jesus. I picture joy, hope, and worship – all as things that sear the
enemy. Have you considered my servant
Cindy? Those words keep me going.
And they overcame him by the blood of the
Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto
the death…for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he
knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Revelation 12: 11-12
I am certain that Praising God in the mist of suffering makes
the enemy furious! And finding purpose
in our pain makes Satan out to be a liar and encourages those who have yet to
see God in the midst of their suffering!
