For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor
perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he
hath prepared for him that waiteth for him
Isaiah 64: 4
The
shark eye is a beautiful shell with striking beauty. Hermit crabs love these shells, but in order for a vacancy sign
to be hung, it takes the death of the mollusk.
Through the death of Jesus, we too
have a vacancy sign hung on the door of our very own home just waiting for us
in heaven.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14: 2
For one who has spent many
years in an apartment, I think that mansion sounds pretty good!
Pain and daily frustrations
of doctors, bills, family, and home can at times make this life seem long and
hard. But this time here on earth is
such a small fraction of eternity that on a timeline it wouldn’t be much more
than a speck.
Keep your eyes on heaven,
your heart in His word, and on days when there is no relief from the pain, no
money for the bills, no energy for those you love, just sit in His presence and
remember…
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1 Corinthians 2: 9.
Abba, I pray a big
prayer. Help me to move from being lost
in the pain and frustrations of this life, to being lifted in the contemplation
of the glories of the one to come, the one that will last an eternity.
