Well over 100 organs were originally listed as vestigial (useless) organs considered as leftovers from an earlier evolutionary ancestor .  However, the list has dropped to almost zero as research has revealed their functions.  A thought to ponder - the fact that a function has not been established for an organ is no real evidence that it has no function.  Many organs that were considered useless have been proved otherwise over the years.   The following are just a handful of organs that were once considered useless but whose functions are now known.
